THE NEWS

My blog is closing, but don't despair! Missy and I are combining into one blog!
Read it HERE !
Twice the news, twice the fun. We'll still be blogging about the usual stuff: our kids, remodeling, and random nonesense, but in addition you get to hear about our growing business and maybe learn a little something through our successes and failures. So come on over, visit regularly. We might even give something away every now and then!

I'm back with news!

So, you know that I am co-owner of Sweet Funky Vintage, right? Well, the reason I haven't been blogging is that SFV has taken off like a rocket and keeping up with that is prority #1. All work and no blogging makes Liz a dull girl. Never fear, though, I think we have come up with a solution! Stay tuned and leave a comment if you are still around, I would love to know who is still reading!

Project du jour

Well, really, it's project du lots of jours! This is our pool area...it was prettier before the initial site work, but I forgot to take a picture! We are having it covered in flagstone, including the wall. Since I love to follow other people's projects, I though maybe someone would be interested in this one. It is quite an undertaking!

This is the stone. 20 tons of it to be exact....that is a lot of rock! Stay tuned, progress should be evident daily! Does anyone out there have a similar project to share? I would love to see yours!

My to-do list

Getting ready to go to Chicago this weekend, and so much to do to prepare. Must see the accountant tomorrow, son has a doctor's appt, need to pick stone for the resurfacing of the pool deck (so excited), plus lots of sewing to do! A "fun" thing I have to do is get to the book store for some plane reading. I have Martha Stewart Living and Food and Wine set aside along with some catalogs, but some sweet friends of mine recommended this book:

So far, it has been sold out everywhere I have tried to buy it. I will have to resort to online ordering soon. Ooh, speaking of online ordering, maybe my "crafting a business" book will arrive before I leave, wouldn't that be some fun plane reading!?

Even though I swore I wouldn't....

I have started taking my reusable shopping bags to the grocery store. Enviromentally friendly? Yes. Hold more? Yes So we agree, reusable bags are a good thing, but dang, they are UGLY! So, I came across this site today JPMONKEY.com
Can you say fabulous!? I love their bags! I might even remember to take these to the grocery store they are so cute. So tell me, do you take bags????

A little behind, but very thankful

I am a little behind in publicly acknowledging my wonderful friends and their fabulous gifts. I had a somewhat miserable birthday, I was sick and drove to Jacksonville and back to take my daughter to the Hannah Montana concert. The bright spots in my week were these wonderful packages that appeared in my mailbox and at my door!
From Kacey, the queen of good mail and remembering birthdays, a super cute "mommy card" and nifty wallet to carry them in. How could she possibly know that this cherry fabric is one of my all time faves???? Kacey, you are the best!

And from dear sweet Missy, my friend and business partner, the most FABULOUS brownies. First of all, the packaging alone was a feast for the eyes. Who wants to eat them, I just wanted to look at them. I hated to untie that beautiful pink bow.....but trust me, the bow was not the best part! The brownies were absolutely scrumptious. Apparently these brownie people beat Bobby Flay in a brownie cook-off! Let me tell you, I believe it. Heaven. Thanks, Missy...and be sure to have your walkin shoes on in Chicago as we shop off the extra pounds I put on eating these, heehee!

Where have you been????

Thanks for hanging with me everybody! I have been dreadfully sick since last Sunday, and just barely able to be a mom, much less a blogger. I am FINALLY on the upswing, and jumping back into the blogging world!

We are pleased to announce that we are now carrying Monkeybar Buddies shorts on Sweet Funky Vintage.Girls can wear their dresses and skirts worry free when they’re hanging around upside down in Monkeybar Buddies. The ultimate in comfort, Monkeybar Buddies were created not to bunch, stick to your dresses, or look bulky under skirts. They are also great under athletic shorts or over dance leotards for an extra layer.
We currently have them in three colors - white, pink, and navy. My daughter wears them to school daily and LOVES them! Visit Sweet Funky Vintage.
